The French captain raised questions about the standard of South American teams two years ago while claiming that European nations are better prepared than the Latin Americans for World Cups as they face higher quality opponents week in and week out.

Now Brazil international and Barcelona winger Raphinha, who soon will compete against Mbappe in El Clasicos, has hit back at the 25-year-old by reminding him that his France had lost the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar to Lionel Messi's Argentina which is a South American powerhouse.
WHAT RAPHINHA SAID
Speaking to reporters, the former Leeds United player said, "Unfortunately for him and happily for us, he lost a World Cup against a South American team."
